AP - Advanced Placement

Blessed Trinity students have access to many AP or Advanced Placement courses (Grade 12)  satisfying the opportunities designed by the College Board in addition to AP Prep courses grades 9 - 11

What is AP or Advanced Placement?

AP gives students the chance to tackle university-level work while they're still in high school—whether they're learning online or in the classroom. And through taking AP Exams, students can earn university  credit and placement.

What are AP or Advanced Placement Prep Courses?

AP Prep courses start in Grade 9 at Blessed Trinity.  We engage students in building skills and mastering content that will help them be successful on College Board Advanced Placement Courses offered at Blessed Trinity.  We focus on skills such as: time management, critical thinking, scholarly writing, collaboration and research.

Our philosophy is to build a comprehensive AP program from grades 9 - 12. See the following continuum and consistent build.  We aim to build competencies starting in grade 9 while engaging senior students from grade 12 concurrently.

2021-22 - Currently offering AP Computer Science - ICS4U AP.

2022-23 - Offering grade 9 AP Prep courses outlined below.  Offering grade 11 AP Prep Computer Science.

Offering grade 11 and 12 AP Advanced Placement courses outlined below. AP exams to be written in May.

2023-24 - Continue grade 9 AP Prep courses. Offering grade 10 AP Prep courses outlined below. Continuing to offer our grade 12 Advanced Placement courses outlined below. 

2024-25 - Continue grade 9 & 10 AP Prep courses. Offering grade 11 AP Prep courses outlined below. Continuing to offer our grade 11 and 12 Advanced Placement courses outlined below.

Inaugural offering of AP Seminar

2025-26 - Continue grade 9, 10 and 11 AP Prep courses. Offering grade 12 Advanced Placement courses outlined below and a new menu including Calculus, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Investigation and research to continue regarding interest in the AP Capstone Program as our comprehensive program unfolds: AP Capstone Diploma Program .

Grade 10 (offered in 2023-24)

  • MPM2D AP Prep - Math
  • SNC2D AP Prep - Science
  • ENG2D AP Prep - English
  • CHC2D AP Prep - History

Grade 11 (offered in 2024-25)

  • MCR3U AP Prep - Math
  • SBI3U AP Prep - Biology
  • SCH3U AP Prep - Chemistry
  • SPH3U AP Prep - Physics
  • ENG3U AP - English Literature
  • CHA3U AP - American History
  • SVN3M AP - Environmental Science
  • AP Seminar Option - Students may take AP Seminar in conjunction with SVN3M and ENG3UAP

Grade 12 (offered in 2024-25)

  • *MHF4U AP Prep - Math (for grade 11 students)

* offered 2nd semester in preparation for AP Calculus.

These courses will begin the extensive and in-depth experience in building both AP skills and content by delivering the Ontario curriculum with added and challenging experiences.
