
Quinn Wilson could not think of a better place to earn her first OFSAA medal than in her own backyard.
The 15-year-old, Grade 10 student at Blessed Trinity was awarded a silver medal in the junior women’s 300-metre hurdle finals at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) track and field meet Saturday at the Niagara Olympic Club.
“It’s a great experience because I have all my family here today,” said Wilson, who trains with Edge Sport Club. “I have both my grandparents, on both sides, and my aunt and uncle and their children.
“It’s just nice to have that support behind me.”
Wilson said that support was crucial in helping calm her nerves.
