Mya Davila is being used is a different role with the Blessed Trinity Thunder varsity girls soccer team.
Normally a striker with her club team, the Grade 12 student is playing defence to help fill in for an injured player.
Blessed Trinity head coach Megan Schweitzer appreciates the 17-year-old Grimsby resident’s selfless attitude.
“She’s such a team player. She wants to be there for the team and win. We have a great group of girls and all of my seniors are fantastic role models for the younger kids coming up,” Schweitzer said Tuesday, after a 3-0 Thunder win over the Holy Cross Raiders at Kiwanis Field.
